Classes and Camps
Education is an enormous investment. Therefore, you want to make your educational
experiences as effective as possible. Help and advice can be the difference between
frustration and wasting time and learning and moving ahead. But you don’t want this
advice to cost a fortune, either.
Group experiences are an efficient and enjoyable way to learn the things you need
to know. I designed my seminars and camps as a cost-effective way to learn about
education and college at critical turning points in the process.
Ideally, a parent would join in the “Mentoring Your Teenager” seminar at the beginning
of high school to understand how to help their child explore and develop extracurricular
skills, and find expert mentors outside the family. The student would then participate
in “College Explorations” after 9th or 10th grade and develop a targeted list of
colleges to research and maybe visit. By the summer before senior year, the student,
armed with extracurricular success and an idea of the college experience he or she
seeks, would write an excellent application at my “Crafting Your Application” camp.
